Uses for Thieves Essential Oil

There are a myriad of uses for Thieves essential oil. It is so versatile. This is what makes it so popular. Thieves is a blend of lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, cloves and rosemary essential oils. This oil has been used for well over 300 years. So its got to be doing something right, right? In this post I will list several ways you can use Thieves essential oil and cleaning products.

Young Living offers a whole line of Thieves products, such as the essential oil, Thieves Aromabright Toothpaste, Thieves cleansing soap, Thieves dental floss, Thieves Dentarome Plus toothpaste, Thieves Dentarome Ultra toothpaste, Thieves foaming hand wash, hand soap refill, Thieves Fresh Essence Plus mouthwash, Thieves hard lozenges, Thieves household cleaner and cleaner refill, Thieves mints, spray, waterless hand purifier, and wipes. Young Living offers a premium starter kit that comes with many of these products.

You can use Thieves oil in hundreds of ways. Here are just a few:

  • Rub diluted on the bottoms of your feet for protection against germs
  • Put 2-3 drops on a dryer sheet to freshen your laundry
  • Remove stubborn adhesives such as glue and gum
  • Diffuse 24-48 hours straight to eliminate household mold
  • Drop 4-5 drops on a tissue and attach to an air conditioner to freshen a hotel room
  • Prevent infection and promote healing by applying 1-3 drops to an open wound
  • Mix 2-3 drops with a tablespoon of water, gargle and swallow for a sore throat
  • Put a drop on your thumb and stick it to the roof of your mouth to help a headache
  • Apply diluted to the skin with a carrier oil such as V-6 to help with acne
  • Diffuse to kill germs
  • Breathe in vapors to help with congestion
  • Add a few drops to your dishwasher to add extra oomph to your regular dish washing routine
  • Add a few drops to your laundry to add a nice scent and have extra cleaning power
  • Make your own deodorant by combining 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup arrowroot powder, 4 tablespoon melted coconut oil, 5 drops Thieves and 5 drops any citrus oil. Mix and apply as needed
  • Mix 5 drops Thieves, 1 drop peppermint with 1 heaping tablespoon of organic coconut oil to help with teething pain. Store in a glass container and keep out of direct sunlight and it should last 1 week.
  • Make a cleaning spray with thieves oil by mixing it with water. Use a 1 drop to 1 ounce of water ratio. This works wonders. It cleans almost any surface and can cut through grease easily. Shake vigorously before each use
  • Thieves Tea- 1 cup hot water or your favorite herbal tea, 1 drop thieves, 2-3 drops lemon, 1 drop peppermint, 1 drop Frankincense, and raw honey to taste. Drink this whenever you are feeling a little under the weather
  • Make your own cough drops by combining honey, 3 drops of Thieves and 2 drops of lemon (can add 2 drops of peppermint). Preheat oven to 300 degrees and place tiny spoonfuls on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes
